Planting a tree has a simple objective. Whoever complies with it will be able to see it grow, enjoy its perfume and the song of the birds on it. Once it has been planted, a tree will always spring up and find a way to last.
Director's note: The film goes along with a song in which a story is told. It is a metaphoric narration, about freedom, authoritharism, and resilience. The story line is very simple: the desire to plant a tree to see it grow and develop. And also: how to overcome difficulties or start again once things have changed. Background: actions take place in the Viceroyalty of Río de la Plata which was established in 1776 and extended roughly over the present-day territories of Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. The Viceroy, depending from the Spanish Crown was then the local ruling authority.
